Monterey, CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2010

Let’s promote innovation and “invent our way back to prosperity.” The Monterey County Fair is seeking companies with an exciting and innovative product that should be promoted in the Hall of Innovation at the Monterey County Fair to be held September 1-6, 2010 in beautiful Monterey, California. The theme of this year’s Monterey County Fair, “The Fair is in the Air” uses the creative artwork from the book, “Chippie de Munk: The Great Inventor” by the amazingly versatile artist, Jo Mora, who lived in Carmel and Pebble Beach from 1876-1947. Before the advent of QVC, Home Shopping Network, and chain stores, the County Fair was the perfect place to showcase a new invention (think Veg-o-matics and Ant Farms). The Monterey County Fair is proud to bring back that beloved tradition.

Thomas L. Friedman, the Pulitzer prize-winning New York Times journalist, wrote last year regarding America’s future, “We might be able to stimulate our way back to stability, but we can only invent our way back to prosperity.” Throughout 2010, the Monterey County Fair is encouraging the spirit of invention among us all.

By participating in the Monterey County Fair as a sponsor, companies will reach over 70,000 attendees in Monterey, Salinas, Carmel, Pebble Beach and beyond, as well as receive extensive branding as part of their sponsorship. All other types of Fair sponsors are welcome and details are on

In addition to other activities, the Fair is holding a special Chippie’s Invention Program for youth in schools and through the Fair’s Competitive Exhibit Program. The Fair’s spacious Hall of Innovation, powered by the local Solar Technologies during Fair week (September 1-6, 2010) will feature displays from some of the winning entries and innovative products produced by sponsor companies, including a Green Vehicle and other great products and displays. In addition, the Monterey County Fair is seeking donations for the Youth Invention Contest and its Literacy Campaign this year which can be given to the Friends of the Fair, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Monterey County Fairgrounds is a premiere event center set on 22 oak-studded acres with ample parking. It is home of the annual award-winning Monterey County Fair, host to many major and private events on the Central Coast. The Monterey County Fair is the 7th District Agricultural Association of the State of California. The legendary Monterey Pop Festival was held at the Fairgrounds, and the popular Monterey Blues Festival and Monterey Jazz Festivals continue their on-going tradition, among many other events.
